Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Tutor of Key Stage 3/4 English to inspire and support learners in a small group and one to one setting. As a Tutor of English, you will create engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning needs, including those of children and students requiring special education support. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help learners achieve their goals and unlock new opportunities through improved language proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver dynamic, personalised English lessons that cater to individual learning styles and goals
- Foster a positive and encouraging classroom environment that motivates students to participate actively in a calm and nurturing environment
- Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Support students with special educational needs by implementing tailored instructional techniques
- Communicate clearly with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure consistent progress tracking and feedback
- Incorporate engaging activities, multimedia resources, and real-world examples to enhance learning experiences
- Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, student attendance, and progress reports
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching English, ideally with diverse age groups or learning needs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently
- Experience working with children or in special education environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and curriculum development for language learners
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom that supports learners with different abilities and backgrounds
- Enthusiasm for helping students succeed and a proactive approach to lesson planning and student engagement
Applicants must hold QTS and be able to commute to our brand new purpose built classroom in Lytham St Annes for tutoring in the early evenings.
Pay: £30.00-£40.00 per hour
