Joshua’s Harvest Store is a unique country store and café offering quality local and homemade food, alongside interesting gifts and homewares. We are situated on the outskirts of Ottery St Mary, a 30-minute drive east of Exeter.
We are looking for a Café Assistant to join our welcoming café team. This is a permanent role working every Sunday, 10am–4pm, including a paid break.
The role reports to our Café Supervisor and Store Manager and will involve working closely with the café team to provide a friendly and efficient service to our customers.
Key tasks include:
- Serving customers and taking orders at the café till
- Clearing and resetting tables
- Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen and café areas clean and tidy
- Assisting with food preparation and the preparation of cakes, snacks and drinks
- Serving food and drinks to customers
- Assisting with keeping all areas of the café and food preparation area clean, tidy and well organised
- Helping to ensure the café runs smoothly and efficiently
- Any other duties that may be required to support the café and wider store
The successful candidate will ideally have previous retail, café or hospitality experience, although this is not essential. We are looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, hardworking and enjoys working as part of a team.
You will enjoy working with the public and providing an excellent customer experience. You should be comfortable working in a busy café environment and be willing to help wherever needed, including with cleaning, washing dishes and food preparation.
