Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Handle customer orders accurately and efficiently, maintaining a friendly and professional demeanour at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area, including cleaning equipment and work surfaces regularly.
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
- Process payments using the point-of-sale system, handling cash or card transactions securely.
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling snacks or light meals when required.
- Uphold health and safety regulations, including proper food handling procedures.
Skills
- Previous barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food safety standards to ensure hygienic practices are maintained.
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy.
- Ability to perform food preparation tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and measuring ingredients accurately.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
