Warrington Borough Council is currently delivering a significant programme of recovery and transformation following the publication of a critical best value report.
The council is currently subject to government intervention and is being supported by Ministerial Envoys. In response to its challenges, the council has an ambitious Improvement and Recovery Plan, supported by a wider programme of organisational and cultural change, that will strengthen governance, deliver significant savings to move towards financial stability, enhance organisational performance and ensure the effective delivery of key services for our communities.
This role will be a driving force at the heart of the Council’s recovery agenda. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Improvement and Recovery Plan, while driving our transformation programme forward. They will play a pivotal role in embedding a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance, ensuring the Council delivers sustainable change and long-term organisational resilience.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team and working alongside elected members, senior officers and the Ministerial Envoys, the successful postholder will influence and lead change at the highest level, delivering lasting impact for the organisation, its workforce and the communities it serves.
