Here at XPO, we’re looking for a Transport Specialist to join us on a full-time, permanent basis at our site in Gloucester. The Transport Specialist will co-ordinate the day-to-day transport operation efficiently to achieve targeted performance levels, supporting the Shift Manager / Supervisor delivering short, medium and long term objectives

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £ 27,580.58. We offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.
What you’ll do on a typical day:

Booking vehicles and drivers into site

Ensuring the timely loading of vehicles on site

Communicating with the warehouse and shunters.

Dispatch Drivers, monitor and update / change plan as required in real time

Liaising with drivers regarding delivery issues or concerns.

Monitor and update / change all requisite systems as required in real time

Communicating issues to the customer

Provide customer ETA’s, haulier and supplier communication

Debriefing of LGV Drivers and processing applicable admin and compliance paperwork.

Providing Proof of Delivery to the customer

Liaising with external hauliers
What you need to succeed at XPO:

Previous experience within transport, logistics, or planning is desirable.

Good understanding of transport legislation, including ADR, Driver CPC, tachograph regulations, and Operator Licence requirements.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.

Confident using transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with drivers, customers, and colleagues.

Ability to work independently and make informed operational decisions.
