Purpose of Role
The Nursery Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the care, learning, and development of all children in the nursery. You will work as part of a dedicated team to provide high-quality childcare, maintain a safe and stimulating environment, and ensure that every child’s individual needs are met.
We're looking for a full time member of the team but a part time role could be offered for the right candidate. Please note we do not offer term-time only or school hours contracts
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities following the EYFS framework.
- Assist in creating a caring, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment, both indoors and outdoors.
- Help with daily routines including mealtimes, toileting, and personal care.
- Observe, record, and contribute to children’s learning journeys and progress.
- Promote positive behaviour and support children’s emotional and social development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to build strong, supportive relationships.
- Ensure all safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ideally, a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures (training can be provided).
- Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
