About the Role
ecoLiving is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Production Supervisor / Process Technician to join our manufacturing site in Burgess Hill.
We manufacture a wide range of detergent, cosmetic and household products, including laundry powder, dishwasher tablets, laundry tablets, cleaning powders, liquid products, cosmetics and other private-label products.
This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who understands manufacturing processes, chemical handling, safe production, quality control and packing. The successful candidate will be involved in producing products, improving production methods, helping develop new processes, and ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture laundry powders, dishwasher tablets, cosmetic products, cleaning products and other household products.
- Carry out powder blending, liquid blending and tablet production.
- Safely handle chemicals, raw materials and finished products in line with company procedures.
- Follow production sheets, formulations, batch records and manufacturing instructions accurately.
- Help develop and improve production processes for new and existing products.
- Set up, operate and clean production equipment and machinery.
- Carry out quality control checks during and after production.
- Check product appearance, weights, consistency, packaging quality and batch information.
- Pack products into retail, bulk and private-label packaging.
- Wrap, label and prepare pallets ready for dispatch.
- Maintain accurate production records and report any issues or non-conformances.
- Keep the production area clean, organised and safe.
- Follow health and safety, COSHH and good manufacturing practices.
- Work with the wider team to improve efficiency, reduce waste and solve production issues.
- Support with stock control of raw materials, packaging and finished goods where required.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, chemical, cosmetic, detergent, food, pharmaceutical or similar environment.
- Good understanding of safe chemical handling and COSHH.
- Experience with powder blending is highly desirable.
- Experience with tablet pressing or tablet manufacturing is desirable.
- Experience with liquid blending or cosmetic manufacturing would be beneficial.
- Ability to follow formulas, batch sheets and production instructions accurately.
- Good attention to detail and understanding of quality control.
- Practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills.
- Able to lift, move, pack and wrap products and pallets as part of the role.
- Able to work safely and keep production areas clean and organised.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Reliable, organised and able to manage multiple production tasks.
