We are excited to offer this opportunity for a Research Technician to deliver high-quality technical support across neuro-oncology research, including managing clinical samples and maintaining laboratory infrastructure. The postholder will work independently and collaboratively, applying technical expertise, careful data management and regulatory compliance to support safe and efficient research operations. By enabling robust workflows and supporting researchers and clinical studies, the role will help generate reliable data and advance translational research that aims to improve patient outcomes.
This is a 1.0 FTE fixed-term role for 12 months, primarily based at Salford Royal Hospital and working across University and NHS environments, with 12 days per month at the Paterson Building. The postholder will contribute to clinical trials and translational research focused on improving the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of brain tumours, and must be able to start at 7am when patient sample collections are scheduled.
About the Team
This role sits within a collaborative translational neuro-oncology research network at the University of Manchester and the Geoffrey Jefferson Research Centre, working across academic and clinical settings. The postholder will work with Professor Petra Hamerlik, Dr Gerben Borst and Dr Claire O’Leary, supporting research that connects patient recruitment, sample collection and advanced biomarker analysis.
