Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to provide personalised support to clients in their own homes. The successful candidate will assist with daily activities, ensure safety, and promote independence while maintaining high standards of care. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in accordance with care plans
- Support clients with mobility and daily routines to promote independence
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary, ensuring dietary requirements are met
- Perform light domestic duties including laundry, cleaning, and organising the home environment
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transit
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a secure environment for clients and staff
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to implement personalised support strategies
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for assisting with transportation needs
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently while adhering to care protocols
