Six-month fixed-term contract with the potential to become permanent
We are a growing multi-site restaurant business based in London, looking for a hands-on Interim Financial Controller / Senior Management Accountant to work closely with senior finance leadership, take ownership of financial reporting, and help strengthen and modernise our finance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys improving processes, introducing automation, and making a genuine impact. The initial appointment is for six months, with the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate management accounts and board reporting.
- Develop and automate financial reporting, trackers and dashboards using Excel and Power Query to reduce manual processes (Power BI experience would be advantageous).
- Lead, coach and support a small finance team, driving high standards and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen financial controls, cash management processes and payroll oversight.
- Partner with operational teams and senior management to provide meaningful financial insight and support decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and year-end audit preparation.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting and financial processes.
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by substantial relevant experience.
- Proven experience preparing management accounts and owning the month-end close process.
- Experience within hospitality, retail or another multi-site business would be highly desirable.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to balance detailed financial work with team leadership.
- Advanced Excel skills with experience of reporting automation and AI productivity tools.
- Experience using Sage or other accounting systems.
- Demonstrable track record of improving processes and implementing change.
