Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate qualified dog groomer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional grooming services to a variety of dogs, large and small, ensuring they look and feel their best. The Dog Groomer will play a vital role in maintaining the health and well-being of our clients' dogs through expert grooming techniques and attentive care.
This position is for Saturdays and/or Sundays. Hours are negotiable. Extra hours may be available Monday to Friday during busy periods.
Responsibilities
- Bathing, drying, and brushing animals to prepare them for grooming sessions
- Trimming, clipping, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
- Cleaning ears and trimming nails as needed
- Ensuring the safety and comfort of animals throughout the grooming process
- Maintaining a clean and organised grooming area, including sanitising tools and equipment
- Providing excellent customer service by discussing grooming needs and offering advice on pet care
- Handling animals gently and confidently
Skills
- Previous dog grooming experience and Level 3 Dog Grooming qualifications are essential
- Strong knowledge of different breeds’ grooming requirements and standards
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with dog owners
- Ability to handle dogs with patience, kindness, and confidence, including those that are anxious or difficult to manage
- Physical strength for heavy lifting when handling larger animals or equipment
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure high-quality grooming results
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a caring attitude
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00-£17.00 per hour
