To provide high-quality care, learning, and development opportunities for children aged 0–5 years in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. The Nursery Practitioner will create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that supports children's emotional, social, physical, and intellectual development.
Key Responsibilities Childcare and Education
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS requirements.
- Support children's learning and development through play-based experiences.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress.
- Act as a key person for a group of children and maintain positive relationships with families.
Safeguarding and Welfare
- Ensure children's safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Follow nursery safeguarding, health and safety, and child protection policies.
- Report any concerns regarding a child's welfare in line with safeguarding procedures.
Parent and Carer Partnerships
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
- Provide regular updates on children's development and wellbeing.
- Attend parent meetings and nursery events when required.
Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and management.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and professional nursery environment.
General Duties
- Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
- Assist with meal times, personal care, and daily routines.
- Support inclusion and equality for all children and families.
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare (or equivalent recognised UK qualification).
- Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Requirements
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Pay: £24,420.00-£36,380.12 per year
