DegreeSix are currently recruiting compassionate and resilient Student Support Assistants to work within highly specialist SEN settings supporting children and young people with complex additional needs.
This is a hands-on, rewarding role suited to individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils with both their educational and personal development needs in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with Autism, complex learning difficulties, communication needs and physical disabilities
- Providing personal care support including toileting, feeding and mobility assistance
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and daily routines
- Assisting with specialist programmes such as physiotherapy and sensory-based activities
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and wider SEN professionals to provide consistent support
- Helping maintain a safe, calm and positive learning environment throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working within SEN, care, support work or education
- Comfortable supporting personal care and medical needs
- Calm, patient and emotionally resilient
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passionate about inclusion and supporting children with additional needs
- Drivers are highly desirable due to location
