Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities, ensuring smooth operations across our hotel. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise technical skills in a dynamic environment, contributing to the ongoing efficiency and safety of our premises. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a keen interest in maintenance, electrical systems, and mechanical work.
Key Responsibilities:
● Carry out general maintenance tasks including:
○ Plumbing repairs
○ Painting and decorating
○ Basic electrical repairs/support
○ Fixings and fastening works
○ Furniture and room repairs
○ General building maintenance
● Safely use hand tools and power tools.
● Carry out routine inspections and checklists for:
○ Electrical systems
○ Plumbing systems
○ Boiler rooms
○ Plant rooms
○ Leak inspections
○ Fault reporting
● Support monitoring of pool plant room operations including:
○ pH levels
○ Chlorine levels
○ General plant room condition
● Respond to maintenance issues and emergency situations promptly.
● Support planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities.
● Maintain cleanliness and organisation of maintenance stores, tools, and inventory.
● Take responsibility for tools and equipment while carrying out duties.
● Work closely with other hotel departments and contractors when required.
● Safely use ladders and access equipment when necessary and follow safety procedures at all times.
● Take responsibility for assigned tasks and complete them efficiently.

● Remain calm and professional when handling difficult or challenging situations.
● Work effectively as part of a team and support hotel operations positively.
Skills & Requirements:
● Previous hands-on maintenance experience preferred.
● Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, and general maintenance works.
● Ability to safely use maintenance tools and equipment.
● Good attention to detail and task focus.
● Ability to prioritise urgent works and respond to operational needs.
● Good teamwork and communication skills.
● Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
● Basic English communication skills required.
● Ability to work calmly under pressure and during emergency situations.

● Hospitality maintenance experience is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate with a strong attitude and willingness to learn.
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
