We are looking for an experienced, dedicated and passionate Deputy Manager to join our established children’s residential home in Widnes.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a service that has recently been rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted. Our home provides therapeutic, child-centred care for two young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), enabling us to deliver high-quality, individualised support that achieves exceptional outcomes.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of young people and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding, care and leadership.
About the Role
Working closely alongside the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, supporting staff to deliver outstanding care and ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and company policies.
You will confidently oversee the home in the Registered Manager’s absence, providing strong leadership and ensuring the smooth operation of the service while maintaining our outstanding standards.
As our organisation begins an exciting period of growth, this role offers genuine career progression. Following the registration of our second children’s home, you will work alongside the Registered Manager under a dual-management structure, helping to oversee both homes. We are recruiting early to allow the successful candidate time to fully embed themselves within the organisation and receive comprehensive in-house training on our policies, procedures and therapeutic approach before taking on this wider leadership responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
- Lead and motivate the staff team to deliver exceptional care.
- Provide leadership and management in the Registered Manager’s absence.
- Promote a warm, nurturing and therapeutic home environment.
- Ensure safeguarding remains at the centre of all decision-making and practice.
- Support with staff supervision, mentoring, induction and development.
- Maintain high standards of care, compliance and record keeping.
- Build positive relationships with young people, families and partner agencies.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous service improvement.
- Support the successful growth of the organisation as additional homes are opened.
Working Pattern
Initially, the role will include a mixture of:
- 9:00am–5:00pm management shifts
- Long day shifts
- Sleep-in duties (if desired)
As the company expands and the second home becomes operational, the role will transition primarily to Monday-Friday management hours, reflecting the wider leadership responsibilities across both homes. The homes are located 6 minutes away from each other.
