You'll play a key role in shaping our production operations, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring we consistently deliver outstanding quality and service to our customers.
What You'll Be Doing
As Production Manager, you'll take ownership of our day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production runs efficiently, safely, and profitably.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and motivating production teams to achieve outstanding performance.
- Planning and managing production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
- Maximising machine utilisation across our laser cutting operations.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Monitoring productivity, quality, and delivery performance through KPIs.
- Working closely with Sales, Estimating, Purchasing, and Dispatch to ensure seamless order fulfilment.
- Maintaining exceptional health and safety standards throughout the factory.
- Managing staffing, recruitment, training, and performance development.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and profitability.
- Supporting equipment maintenance planning to minimise downtime.
- Building a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture.
Description of Relationship
The position is within the Production Department, reporting directly to the Director as below however, a team environment is embraced with all departments working toward the same goals;
What We're Looking For
You'll be an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and getting the best from people.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or Operations Manager.
- Experience within laser cutting, sheet metal, fabrication, or precision engineering.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience managing production KPIs and driving operational improvements.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement techniques.
- A commitment to quality, safety, and delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Good general standard of education.
- To be fully conversant and able to train Premier staff in the use of all Premier machinery and equipment.
- Current Fork Lift Truck licence holder.
