Assistant Showroom Manager — Marlow
The Cotswold Company · Full-time · 38 hours per week
We're looking for an Assistant Showroom Manager to help lead the team at our Marlow showroom.
This is a lovely next step for an experienced Supervisor ready for more — and a natural fit for a Manager looking for their next challenge. Either way, you'll be someone the team looks to. Warm, steady, and quietly inspiring.
You love bringing people with you. Helping a team find their best, hit their targets, and take real pride in the showroom, the furniture, and the service we're known for. That care shows up in every customer who walks through the door — and you'll love being part of that.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the team day to day — coaching, developing and motivating people to do their best work.
- Driving profitable sales through strong product knowledge and genuine, unhurried selling.
- Delivering an exceptional customer experience, and setting the standard for what "exceptional" looks like.
- Owning the numbers — sales budgets, KPIs, stock accuracy and the showroom P&L.
- Keeping the showroom beautifully merchandised, in line with our layout and VM guidelines.
- Planning rotas, managing performance, and looking after health, safety and cash handling.
- Working closely with Buying, other showrooms and head office to share what works and shape the wider business.
Who you are
- Three years or more in retail management or a supervisory role.
- A genuine love of furniture, design and our brand.
- Commercially minded — you enjoy hitting targets, never at the cost of service.
- A natural team-builder who leads through motivation, not pressure.
- Resilient, curious, and always looking for a better way to do things.
- A confident communicator, comfortable presenting results and building rapport.
The finer details
Full-time is 38 hours per week, 9.00am to 5.30pm, including weekends and bank holidays. Retail runs on its busiest days, and you'll be there for them.
What you'll get from us
- 25 days' holiday, plus public holidays
- Your birthday off
- One paid volunteering day a year
- Company pension
- Private healthcare and medical insurance
- Death in Service benefit
- 50% staff discount, and 25% for family and friends
- Cycle to work scheme
- Health and wellbeing support
- Ongoing development and real career progression
…and plenty more besides.
Who we are
Over 25 years ago, we opened our first showroom at Bourton-on-the-Water, in the heart of the Cotswolds. That very special corner of rural England taught us the value of timeless, understated furniture and homeware — pieces that bring a home to life.
We're proud of our products and our people, and we're growing fast. We care deeply about our teams, and we work hard to build a place where everyone feels they belong. We live by our value of Lead with Care — looking out for one another, staying approachable, and making room for kindness.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
Applicants should already hold the right to work in the UK. The Cotswold Company is unable to offer sponsorship.
