Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Solar PV Electrician to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the renewable energy sector, installing, commissioning and maintaining Solar PV systems and other energy-efficient technologies in domestic properties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical installations while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and providing exceptional customer service. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of renewable energy projects while developing your technical skills and contributing to a more sustainable future.
Duties
- Install, test, commission and maintain Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems in domestic properties.
- Design Solar PV and heating systems to meet customer requirements where required.
- Install, commission and maintain mechanical ventilation systems and electric storage heaters.
- Carry out electrical modifications, including installing and relocating sockets, switches and lighting circuits.
- Perform electrical inspections, testing, fault finding and commissioning of installations.
- Ensure all work complies with BS7671 Wiring Regulations, MCS standards and Building Regulations.
- Complete all installation documentation, certification and compliance paperwork accurately.
- Interpret electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installations.
- Work collaboratively with office staff, project managers and installation teams to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and ensure all work is carried out safely in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
- Provide a professional and friendly service to customers throughout every installation.
Requirements
- NICEIC Qualified Electrician.
- BS7671:2018 (18th Edition) qualification.
- Proven experience installing Solar PV systems within domestic properties.
- Good understanding of MCS regulations and renewable energy installation standards.
- Strong knowledge of electrical testing, fault finding and commissioning.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Professional, reliable and self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- BPEC Solar PV qualification.
- Experience installing Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV), Electric Storage Heaters (ESH) or Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP).
- Experience designing Solar PV systems.
- Knowledge of domestic retrofit and energy efficiency projects.
