Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles to deliver goods efficiently and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment where your driving skills and commitment to excellence make a real impact. We are a family company only running a few trucks and vans. We do general haulage, Moffett work, supermarket work and container work. Full training for the Moffett available in house. We are based in Bellshill so ideally looking for someone that doesn't live too far to commute.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring on-time arrivals and departures
- Secure loads properly on flatbeds, ensuring safety during transit and compliance with load regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance or safety issues
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, mileage records, and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Maintain a professional attitude at all times, representing the company positively during interactions with clients and colleagues
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, helpful if driver has Moffett experience.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load transportation
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks associated with securing loads or tipping trailers for supermarket work.
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with route planning tools
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
