We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Class 2 HGV Driver to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV), commonly known as a rigid truck, to deliver goods efficiently and reliably to various destinations. Your expertise in commercial driving, combined with your commitment to safety and customer service, will ensure timely deliveries and uphold our high standards of operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checks on brakes, lights, tires, and load security
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring proper handling of flatbed cargo and adherence to weight limits
- Deliver goods accurately to designated locations, following planned routes efficiently while managing delivery schedules
- Secure loads properly on flatbed trucks to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Maintain detailed records of deliveries, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections in accordance with legal requirements
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery times and resolve any issues promptly
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 HGV license (C license) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver, preferably with flatbed cargo handling experience minimum 12 months experience
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbeds
- Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation and load security procedures
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines consistently
- Good communication skills for interacting professionally with team members and clients
