The role:
As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship to support the continued growth of our Entrepreneurship portfolio within Southampton Business School, including undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching across areas including entrepreneurial mindset and opportunity recognition, new venture creation, innovation management, business model development, entrepreneurial finance, venture growth and scaling, and related entrepreneurship disciplines. They will also contribute to curriculum development, student supervision, research activities and the wider academic life of the School.
This balanced academic role requires an educator and researcher who is passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation, and who is committed to delivering engaging, experiential and student-centred learning experiences that prepare graduates to become successful entrepreneurs, innovators and business leaders. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering lectures, developing assessments, supervising student projects—including venture creation and incubation-based projects—and contributing to an outstanding student learning experience while supporting the University's research strategy through high-quality scholarly activities and engagement with industry.
About you:
We particularly welcome applications from candidates with expertise in Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, New Venture Creation, Business Model Innovation, Entrepreneurial Finance or related disciplines. We especially encourage applications from individuals with entrepreneurial, consultancy or industry experience who can bridge academic theory and real-world venture creation through practical case studies, startup engagement and industry collaboration.

Essential requirements:

PhD or equivalent professional qualification in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business Management or a closely related discipline.

Experience of teaching in higher education.

Evidence of research activity and scholarly publication.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to contribute to curriculum development and student success.

Commitment to collaborative working and inclusive academic practice.
Knowledge of Malaysian higher education frameworks and relevant industry experience would be advantageous.
