Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Climbing Arborist / Tree Surgeon to join their established team on a permanent PAYE basis.This is an excellent opportunity for a professional climber with at least 5 years of industry experience who is confident carrying out a wide variety of tree surgery and arboricultural work to a high standard. The business has built a strong reputation across the region and is now looking to bring an experienced climber into the team as part of its ongoing expansion plans. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out professional tree climbing and aerial tree work
- Complete crown reductions, crown thinning, pruning and maintenance work
- Undertake sectional dismantling and tree removals
- Safely fell trees in a variety of environments
- Carry out aerial chainsaw operations
- Work confidently using ropes, harnesses and climbing systems
- Perform rigging operations where required
- Work safely around buildings, gardens and restricted access locations
- Assess sites and identify safe, efficient methods of work
- Collaborate effectively with groundsmen and other team members
- Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
- Carry out pre-use equipment inspections and routine care
- Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues
- Travel to customer sites across Milton Keynes and approximately a 40-mile radius
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' professional tree surgery / arboriculture experience
- Proven climbing and aerial tree work experience
- Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue (CS38 or current equivalent)
- Chainsaw from a Rope & Harness (CS39 or current equivalent)
- Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-Cutting (CS30 or current equivalent)
- Tree Felling (CS31 or current equivalent)
- Strong experience in crown reductions, pruning and dismantling operations
- Confidence undertaking aerial chainsaw work
- Excellent understanding of arboricultural health and safety
- Ability to work safely and effectively at height
- Reliable, professional and team-oriented approach
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Aerial Tree Rigging qualification
- Technical dismantling experience
- First Aid +F qualification
- Woodchipper certification
- Stump Grinder certification
- MEWP qualification
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience as a Lead Climber
