We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team to enrich the lives and experiences of the young people We work with. In this vital role, you will help create a fun nurturing environment and provide compassionate support, guidance, and encouragement to help our children enjoy their aftercare experience. Your energetic approach will help create an environment where children feel safe, valued, and motivated to thrive. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your childcare skills while making a positive impact our young peoples experience whilst in our care.
Duties
- Offer personalised support to children and young people, promoting their emotional well-being and social development
- Assist with daily routines such as setting up preparing and providing breakfast and afternoon snack, and cleaning up at the end of each day.
- Implement and facilitate engaging activities that encourage learning, creativity, and social interaction
- Mentor children through positive reinforcement, helping build confidence and resilience
- Collaborate with team members to develop support plans that meet individual needs
- Supervise children during outings, ensuring safety at all times
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and daily activities to ensure consistent care delivery
- Support children to and from School each day
Skills
- Experience working with children is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate fun and interactive activities
- Compassionate communication skills to connect effectively with children, families, and colleagues
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing challenging situations positively
- Enthusiastic team player committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies
