What’s the role all about?
The Anti-Social Behaviour Team at North East Lincolnshire Council operates a clear Victims’ Charter, fully aligned with Home Office principles and guidance. This newly created Restorative Justice Coordinator role will take ownership of borough wide themes and providing professional advice, coordination and case oversight across issues ranging from low level to complex and high risk ASB and Crime.
The Restorative Justice Coordinator will be allocated Court or Out of Court Disposal cases, providing support for perpetrator and victim from both Probation and Humberside Divert team. This will include conducting home and community visits, arranging appropriate interventions such as Restorative Justice, mediation or support services, and identifying, assessing and escalating risk appropriately.
You will play a key role in strengthening partnership pathways, improving how we identify and manage victim risk, and proactively investigating cases of anti-social behaviour and crime to achieve better outcomes for individuals and communities.
What will your day look like?
You will work closely with The Probation Service, Humberside Divert Team, Humberside Police and a range of partner organisations to provide targeted support to perpetrators and vulnerable victims. You will arrange the appropriate interventions and develop initiatives aimed at preventing anti-social behaviour and reduce the risk of re-offending.
The role involves providing advice, expertise and coordination across a wide range of ASB issues, taking a proactive approach to managing perpetrators involved in incidents from low-level nuisance through to high-risk and complex cases.
You will analyse data and intelligence to identify emerging issues and shape effective, targeted responses, and support multi-agency problem-solving and community-wide initiatives to deliver sustainable outcomes.
You will work proactively within local communities to prevent Crime and ASB through problem-solving initiatives, ward walks, community engagement activities and multiagency operational days.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working in a role relating to crime and disorder, particularly Anti-Social Behaviour and how the use of Restorative Justice can create positive outcomes for the victim and offender. You will have a thorough understating of the statutory and regulatory frameworks that guide the delivery of services aimed at reducing Anti-Social behaviour. The successful candidate will have the ability to interpret data and provideanalysis of emerging issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for this role.
