As our business continues to grow, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Renewable Energy Engineer to join our expanding engineering team.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing renewable energy systems for domestic and commercial clients whilst ensuring projects meet technical, regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design renewable energy solutions for residential and commercial properties, including solar PV and battery storage systems.
- Conduct site surveys, energy assessments and technical feasibility studies.
- Analyse energy consumption data and evaluate system performance.
- Prepare technical proposals, engineering calculations and detailed reports.
- Design and optimise solar photovoltaic systems and battery energy storage solutions.
- Research emerging renewable energy technologies and assess their suitability for implementation.
- Advise clients on renewable energy technologies, system performance and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with suppliers, installers, contractors and project teams throughout project delivery.
- Assist with technical problem-solving during installation and commissioning.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant UK legislation, building regulations and industry standards.
- Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and technical documentation.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrable knowledge of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar photovoltaic systems and battery storage.
- Ability to analyse technical data and prepare engineering reports.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Full UK driving licence (or ability to travel to project sites where required).
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in the renewable energy or electrical engineering sector.
- Knowledge of UK renewable energy regulations and industry standards.
- Experience using PV design or engineering software.
- Knowledge of battery storage technologies and energy management systems.
- Familiarity with EV charging infrastructure.
