The Opportunity
Are you a DVSA-certified MOT Tester looking to join a busy, well-established workshop with zero weekend working?
We are a reputable, friendly, family-run business known for delivering high-quality automotive care across our local community. We take pride in running an efficient, honest garage environment where quality workmanship is valued over high-pressure dealership quotas.
Due to growing site demand, we are seeking an experienced MOT Tester to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. If you hold active Class 4 and Class 7 testing credentials, we will fully fund and support your Class 5 training upgrade to broaden your skillset!

- Fault Identification: Accurately identify, diagnose, and document vehicle defects, advisories, and required repairs.
- DVSA Compliance: Maintain immaculate digital testing records, logging test results correctly via the DVSA portal.
- Customer Communication: Deliver clear, professional, and friendly explanations of test findings and advisory items to customers when required.
- Bay Maintenance: Ensure the MOT testing bay and test equipment are kept clean, calibrated, safe, and well-maintained.
Requirements
- Certification: Valid and current DVSA MOT Tester License (Class 4 & 7 essential; Class 5 is desirable, but full training will be provided if not yet held).
- Experience: Proven experience testing vehicles inside a active garage or workshop setup.
- Precision: High attention to detail with an uncompromising commitment to vehicle safety and testing accuracy.
- Driving Credentials: A full UK Driving Licence is preferred for maneuvering vehicles around the site and bay.
- Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently while fitting into a supportive family-run team.
