Finance Assistant (Part Time)
Location: Heathfield, East Sussex
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 2:00pm (20 hours per week)
Salary: £16.35 per hour
Sherwood Roofing Contractors Ltd is a well-established roofing contractor, proudly serving local authority, commercial and domestic clients across the South East. As part of a growing group of three established businesses, we are looking to recruit a Part Time Finance Assistant to support the finance function across the group.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous finance or bookkeeping experience who enjoys working in a varied, fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in maintaining the day-to-day financial administration across all three businesses, ensuring accurate records and providing support to the management team.
Key Responsibilities
Processing sales invoices across the three companies and issuing them to clients via email and a variety of client invoicing portals.
Maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable records, ensuring invoices, statements and financial records are processed accurately and kept up to date.
Preparing supplier payment schedules and providing payment information to management for approval.
Assisting with bookkeeping and ledger processing using Xero and QuickBooks.
Resolving customer and supplier account queries professionally and efficiently.
About You
Previous experience in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping role is essential.
Experience using Xero and/or QuickBooks is desirable.
Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
A positive, reliable and proactive approach to work.
