The Role
As Assistant Manager, you’ll work alongside the owners to oversee the day-to-day running of the venue. You’ll be responsible for ensuring every customer receives an exceptional experience while leading by example on the floor.
This is a hands-on role requiring excellent leadership, organisation, and a passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management of the venue.
- Lead, motivate and develop the bar team.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer issues professionally.
- Assist with staff recruitment, training and performance management.
- Manage stock levels, ordering and stock control.
- Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed to a high standard.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation and venue appearance.
- Ensure licensing laws, health & safety regulations and company policies are followed.
- Support with rotas, labour control and daily operations.
- Drive sales through upselling, promotions and events.
- Step into the Manager’s role when required.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a bar, pub or hospitality environment.
- Strong cocktail knowledge (or willingness to learn quickly).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident handling customer complaints and difficult situations.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- Personal Licence (preferred but not essential).
Desirable
- Experience managing stock and GP.
- Experience using EPOS systems.
- Knowledge of social media and venue promotions.
