Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Control System Senior Design Engineer to join the Silos MSSS SEP1&2 CE&I design team at Warrington.
The successful candidate will lead a team of Programmable Electronic System (PES) based Control System Design Engineers, delivering, supporting and checking design packages and updates to meet functional and business requirements.
Key Deliverables:
- Lead a team of Programmable Electronic System (PES) based Control System Design Engineers.
- Deliver, support and check control system design packages and updates to meet functional and business requirements.
- Ensure control system requirements are aligned with design intent.
- Ensure system modifications are appropriately specified and tested.
- Apply a strong working knowledge of relevant control system design standards.
- Provide design support during commissioning activities.
- Develop programmes and estimates to support project and task planning.
- Prioritise and assign work to other team members.
- Support and develop early career Engineers.
- Deliver work to challenging targets and agreed timescales.
- Report progress effectively to relevant stakeholders and project teams.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a range of individuals and teams.
- Apply a strong working knowledge of SCADA, PLC and Network Systems.
Key Requirements / Qualifications:
- HNC academic qualification.
- Incorporated Engineer professional qualification.
- BPSS clearance, with SC clearance to be gained to allow access to the plant on the Sellafield site.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience successfully delivering either a Control System Senior Design Engineer role, with strong working knowledge of relevant design standards, or a Control System Senior Implementation Engineer role with experience of the Sellafield Limited design specification tool, CONCISE.
- Strong working knowledge of SCADA, PLC and Network Systems.
- Proven experience of developing early career Engineers.
- Experience developing programmes and estimates to support project and task planning.
- Experience prioritising and assigning work to others.
- Proven ability to deliver to challenging targets and report progress effectively.
- Experience providing design support during commissioning.
- BEng academic qualification.
- Chartered Engineer professional qualification.
- Strong working knowledge of PES-based Control System/servo drive interfaces.
