Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper/laundry assistant to join our team of domestic staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in laundry & cleaning within a care home environment and/or a commercial setting, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and high standards of cleanliness. This role is essential in maintaining the efficient running of the homes laundry, as well as cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for all our residents and guests.
Responsibilities
- Perform laundry duties in our in house laundry including laundering of residents personal clothing as well as bedding/towels etc.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces in residents rooms and common areas.
- Ensure all areas are well-maintained and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Provide excellent service by responding to resident or visitor requests and inquiries in a friendly manner.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient operations within the establishment.
- Shift patterns 7am - 2.15pm including some weekends
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home environment (or similar), commercial laundry and/or cleaning or housekeeping is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties throughout the shift, including lifting and moving items as necessary.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to housekeeping duties.
