About the Role
The Electronics Engineer (Robotics Hardware) is responsible for
supporting the design, assembly, modification, and debugging of electronic
systems used across our robotic platforms. This role is highly hands-on,
with a strong focus on precision soldering, embedded hardware, and
working directly with microcontrollers, processors, and single-board
computers.
This is a full-time role suited to an early/mid-career electronics engineer who
enjoys working at the component and board level, has excellent attention to
detail, and wants to gain deep experience building reliable electronics for
real robotic systems.
What You’ll Do
- Perform high-precision manual soldering, including fine-pitch and microscopic soldering of small SMD components
- Assemble, rework, and repair PCBs, connectors, and custom wiring harnesses
- Development of microprocessors and microcontrollers using various sensors
- Support bring-up and debugging of electronic systems using multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and bench power supplies
- Integrate and maintain embedded platforms such as Raspberry Pi, microcontrollers, and embedded processors
- Assist with sensor integration (cameras, IMUs, encoders, force/torque sensors, etc.)
- Support power distribution, voltage regulation, and signal-integrity considerations
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware faults at component, board, and system level
- Collaborate closely with mechanical and software teams to ensure reliable system integration
- Maintain clear documentation for schematics, wiring, assembly procedures, and test results
We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or near completion) in Electronics
- Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Excellent hands-on soldering skills, including fine-pitch and small-scale component work
- Practical experience working with transistors and basic analogue/digital circuits
- Experience using Raspberry Pi, microcontrollers (e.g. Arduino, STM32, ESP32, or similar), and embedded processors
- Comfortable working with Linux-based systems on embedded hardware
- Ability to read and understand schematics and datasheets
- Strong attention to detail and methodical debugging approach
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary robotics team
Nice to Have
- Experience with PCB design tools (e.g. KiCad, Altium, Eagle)
- Exposure to SMT rework stations, hot-air reflow, or microscope-assisted soldering
- Understanding of power electronics, battery systems, or motor drivers
- Experience working on robots, embedded systems, or safety-critical hardware
What We Offer
- Full-time role with competitive salary
- Opportunity to work on real robotic hardware deployed in healthcare environments
- Deep hands-on exposure to professional-grade electronics and embedded systems
- High ownership and responsibility from early on
- Collaboration with experienced electronics, robotics, AI, and mechanical engineers
- Startup environment focused on engineering excellence, speed, and real-world impact
