We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant Chef to join our warm, supportive team. If you have experience working in a nursery kitchen or as a kitchen assistant and enjoy preparing fresh, nutritious meals for children, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role
As our Nursery Assistant Chef, you will work alongside our kitchen team to:
- Prepare and cook fresh, home-cooked meals and snacks for children aged 0–5 years.
- Help create healthy, balanced, seasonal menus that meet current nutritional guidance and dietary requirements.
- Support the day-to-day running of the nursery kitchen.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation.
- Ensure food is prepared safely, following allergen and food safety procedures.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and reducing food waste.
- Work closely with the nursery team to provide an exceptional dining experience for our children.
Working Hours
This role is 5 days per week, with a minimum of 5 hours per day. We understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance and can offer flexible working hours, with start and finish times discussed during the recruitment process to suit both the successful candidate and the needs of the nursery.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has previous experience working in a nursery kitchen, childcare setting, school kitchen, or similar catering environment.
- Has experience as a Nursery Chef, Assistant Chef, Kitchen Assistant, or Cook.
- Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Understands the importance of nutrition for young children.
- Is organised, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Has a positive, caring attitude and enjoys making a difference to children's daily lives.
- Is committed to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
