Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Start Date: 1st September 2026
End Date: 23rd October 2026
Salary: Competitive - dependent on experience
About the Role
NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Headteacher to join a welcoming primary school in Bradford on a temporary supply basis.
The role is initially expected to run for four weeks, with the potential to continue until October half term. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced school leader who can provide confident leadership support across behaviour, pastoral care, safeguarding and wider school development.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the school's leadership team with:
Supporting safeguarding and pastoral provision
Using DSL training to support safeguarding procedures
Supporting with Early Help assessments
Providing leadership around behaviour and pastoral support
Overseeing playtime and lunchtime timetables
Supporting staff and pupils during play and lunchtime periods
Supporting personal development and SMSC
Supporting the implementation of the National Free Breakfast Club Programme starting in September
Working closely with the wider leadership team to maintain high standards across the school
Promoting a positive, inclusive and supportive school environment
Essential Requirements
Previous experience in a school leadership role, ideally as a Deputy Headteacher or equivalent
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
DSL training and experience
Experience supporting Early Help assessments
Strong behaviour and pastoral leadership skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A confident and supportive approach to working with staff, pupils and families
Good understanding of personal development and SMSC
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
