The duties of the Minister of Religion include the daily reading and recitation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, conducting daily and weekly Diwans, and preaching the Sikh faith to the congregation. The role requires performing the daily Parkash and Sukhasan ceremonies of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, including the morning and evening prayers, and ensuring that all religious activities are carried out in accordance with Sikh principles and traditions; leading daily worship services, provide spiritual guidance to members of the Sangat, and officiate religious ceremonies including marriages, birth-related ceremonies, and funerals. The post holder must demonstrate the highest level of respect and reverence towards Guru Maharaj Ji and Guru Ki Sadh Sangat at all times. Additional responsibilities include supporting and participating in the organisation’s religious programmes and undertaking any other reasonable duties required to further its religious objectives. From time to time, may also be required to conduct prayers and religious ceremonies at the homes of devotees for family and community functions.
