Job Title: Family Law Solicitor
Location: Bishop Auckland, County Durham
Salary: £35,000 - £75,000 (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Full-time, 36 days holiday including bank holidays and Christmas closure
Family Law Solicitor Opportunity
Our client is a well-established and respected law firm seeking an experienced Family Law Solicitor to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with at least 2 years' PQE who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking practice. The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing a varied caseload of family law matters from instruction through to conclusion.
- Advising clients on issues including:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy proceedings
- Private children matters
- Cohabitation disputes
- Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
- Domestic abuse matters
- Building strong and lasting relationships with clients through excellent service and communication.
- Drafting legal documents, court applications and correspondence.
- Representing clients at hearings, negotiations and settlement discussions where appropriate.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Maintaining accurate records and utilising case management systems effectively.
- Supporting the continued growth and success of the Family Department.
About You
Applicants should possess:
- Qualified Solicitor status in England and Wales.
- A minimum of 2 years' PQE in Family Law.
- Experience managing their own caseload of privately funded family matters.
- Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of family law work.
- Excellent client care and relationship-building abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and professional approach to work.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a wider team.
Advocacy and litigation experience would be advantageous, although not essential.

Hours
- Full-time preferred (36 hours per week).
