The maintenance assistant will usually report to the Facilities & Estate Manager. The prime duty includes assisting in handling routine maintenance activities.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Schedule regular maintenance activities at all residential units in SE London as determined by Central Business Services
- Supervise the Maintenance Assistant for projects until completion
- Manage all maintenance associated activities across the business

- Review work order priorities on a daily basis and ensure that they are serviced each day
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing bulbs and repairing doors/windows
- Ensure that the facilities are in a safe condition by employing investigative techniques
- Oversee the operation of equipment used in performing maintenance work
- Provide input in painting, redecorating
- Test alarm systems for safety compliance
- Maintain periodic log of general and preventative maintenance activities performed

Person Specification
- A broad range of general buildings maintenance experience, including painting and decorating;
- At least 5 years of experience as a Maintenance/Handyman;
- Specialist skills and experience in either plumbing, electrical or carpentry;
- A practical, problem solving approach, with a ‘can do’ attitude;
- Self- motivated and able to work without supervision;
- Be responsible, honest and reliable;
- Fit to carry out manual handling and heavy lifting tasks, and able to work at height when necessary;
- Enthusiastic and willing to undertake training;
- Full driving licence, covering entitlement to drive C1 vehicles (D1 would be desirable).
