We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic and caring individuals to support us in working with children from 10 months to 5 years. We are based in South East London (Peckham / East Dulwich).
Candidates will ideally have experience in working in an early years setting, and have an affinity for working with young children.
Candidates are required to work 24 hours a week across three days (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 hours per day), and we can only consider candidates that have the right to work in the UK (we cannot sponsor applicants). We are at present looking to hire someone on an initial 12 month contract, although this may be extended.
Who we are:
Little Jungle - School of Early Childhood is a unique and long standing OFSTED OUTSTANDING setting, based in South East London (Peckham / East Dulwich).
We follow an enquiry-based learning approach, and we are heavily inspired by the childhood centres of Reggio Emilia. This means we listen to and observe children carefully and help them to construct their own learning by offering them resources and experiences that enhance their explorations, as well as build their knowledge and skills.
All our staff are given a full induction upon joining, as well as ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Our team is supported by a strong leadership team who care deeply about the Little Jungle team, and provide ongoing support and coaching in a collaborative and democratic environment.

What you'll do:
- Care for and supervise children (aged 10 months to 5 years)
- Establish and develop a great relationship with children, parents and the Little Jungle Team
- Work with a team of qualified Early Years Educators
- Maintain a safe and secure environment
- You will not be required to complete children’s observations or classroom planning, nor have any key children

What you need:
- Ideally, experience of working with children in the Early Years
- Ideally, Early Years Qualifications preferred
- Clear DBS police record (this is done and paid for by us when you need)
- References from a previous employer or educational institution

PLEASE NOTE: THIS ROLE IS BASED ON WORKING FULL-TIME (40 HOURS PER WEEK). THIS MEANS WORKING FULL-DAYS (8 HOURS PER DAY) AND FULL-WEEKS (5 DAYS PER WEEK). WE CANNOT ACCEPT APPLICATIONS WHO REQUIRE PART-TIME WORKING ARRANGEMENTS FOR THIS POSITION.
