We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Childcare Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children, fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while making a positive impact on children's development. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about early childhood education and childcare.
We will consider any qualified level 2 staff who are working towards their level 3 qualification.
Applicants ideally will also hold paediatric first aid and food hygiene qualifications and have a keen sense to develop their skills further.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards
- Supervise children during play, mealtimes, rest periods, and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being
- Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities for reporting purposes
- Support the organisation of nursery routines and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
- Lead and manage team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of childcare are maintained
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behaviour, and needs
- Assist in the organisation of nursery events and activities that involve children, staff, and families
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of childcare practices through professional development
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
- Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Childcare qualifications at Level 3 or equivalent recognised by relevant authorities
- Experience in managing nursery operations or leading a team is desirable
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting children or attending external activities
- Passionate about child development with a caring, patient demeanour
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also demonstrating leadership qualities
Pay: £12.95-£13.45 per hour
