Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Man and Van large parcel courier to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering large parcels efficiently and safely across designated routes. This role requires a professional approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle heavy items with care. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on punctuality and customer satisfaction.
Own van preferred, but a van can be provided for a fee.
Duties
- Collect parcels from the warehouse or designated collection points and ensure accurate loading onto the vehicle.
- Deliver large parcels to various locations within the specified area, adhering to scheduled routes and timeframes.
- Assist with heavy lifting during loading and unloading processes, ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays.
- Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure it remains in good working condition throughout shifts.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of goods and safe driving practices.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably within courier or logistics services.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, demonstrating knowledge of road safety and navigation.
- Warehouse experience is advantageous, particularly in handling large or heavy items.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns is beneficial for timely deliveries. Pay: £125.00-£280.00 per day
