An exciting opportunity has arisen within Newport’s Early Years Education and Inclusion Team for a skilled and motivated Teacher Adviser for Early Years & ALN. The role will support the continued development of high-quality inclusive practice across non-maintained early years settings, school nursery classes, and schools during key early transition points.
We are seeking an experienced Practitioner with QTS, a strong background in Early Years education, and expertise in supporting children with ALN. The successful candidate will have a secure understanding of the Curriculum for Wales, early identification processes, inclusive practice and the statutory requirements of the ALN Act. They will work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals to support settings and schools in implementing effective strategies, strengthening early intervention, and embedding inclusive approaches.
The Teacher Adviser for Early Years & ALN will provide high-quality advice and guidance, supporting Practitioners to identify ALN through purposeful observations and the effective use of assessment tools. They will upskill staff through targeted coaching, modelling and professional learning opportunities, and work closely with multi-agency partners to promote inclusive environments. The role also involves supporting settings and ALNCOs in delivering Early Years specific interventions and ensuring that provision meets the diverse needs of young learners.
We are looking for someone passionate about improving outcomes for young children and committed to empowering settings and schools to deliver high-quality, inclusive early years provision.
While not essential, the ability to speak Welsh would be an asset and is warmly welcomed.
