As a Double Up Carer, you will work collaboratively with fellow caregivers to deliver comprehensive support that enhances the well-being and independence of those we serve. Responsibilities
- Assist residents and clients with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, and meal preparation to promote independence and comfort
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring safety and adherence to care plans
- Engage residents in meaningful activities that stimulate mental and emotional well-being, including behavior management techniques for those with dementia or Alzheimer's
- Provide compassionate patient care during routine health assessments or emergencies, including first aid when necessary
- Collaborate closely with team members to coordinate care plans, share observations, and ensure seamless service delivery
- Assist with heavy lifting and transfer tasks safely to prevent injury for both residents and caregivers
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, medication schedules, and any changes in residents’ conditions
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments preferred
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care best practices
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient safety and comfort
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required for resident mobility assistance
- Valid driver’s license for driving duties related to transportation or errands (if applicable)
- Certifications in first aid, medication administration, or caregiving are advantageous
- Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude toward teamwork and resident engagement
