Darwin's Gin Bar is located within the popular and vibrant St Leonards area of Exeter. The bar is a key social hub, ethical in approach, contributing to the wider local community and in keeping with the atmosphere of the street. Good quality drinks and service within a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, complemented by good, simple bar snacks to provide an unpretentious but memorable social experience. The Supervisor role is guaranteed to be challenging and rewarding each and every day, a critical role, for a critical thinker, but someone who is committed to work collaboratively and is a team player - this is a must.
NOTE: This is a part-time role and can be a salaried position (pro-rata) with an expected 20hour per week minimum, but with additional hours during busy periods (tbd).
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures
- Ensure that all guests receive exceptional service and have a positive experience
- Train and supervise bar staff, including bartenders and servers
- Create and maintain a cocktail menu, ensuring a variety of options for guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
- Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in bartending or a supervisory role is essential
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Knowledge of mixology and cocktail preparation techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts as they arise
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and practices
