Primary objective of position:
- To ensure that the Quay Hotel and Spa, including all plant, fixtures and fittings, are maintained to the highest standard through both planned and reactive maintenance, adhering to Health, Safety and other legal requirements and supporting the needs of your department, the guests and services offered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To work as part of the Maintenance Team to ensure that effective preventative and current maintenance requirements are undertaken to a high standard.
- Undertake day to day maintenance requirements – painting, decorating, carpentry, basic plumbing and electrical works
- Attend to all types of repairs and maintenance work in the Hotel premises
- Repair and maintain guest room facilities, light facilities, furniture and equipment
- Assist with the implementation of the hotel’s preventive maintenance system and repair log system
- Prioritise work in line with guest requests and management priorities
- Implement and carry out maintenance program in accordance with established timeframes as set by Maintenance Manager.
- Participate in supporting colleagues on the proper operation, safety procedures and cleaning of all equipment, when necessary.
- Support the department in efficient and effective use of recycling methods
- Support department to ensure that appropriate files are maintained and resources kept for future reference
- Assist tradesmen and colleagues with maintenance and repairs when required
- Maintain plant rooms, under direction from Maintenance Manager
Previous Experience (Desirable)
Experience working in a similar hotel maintenance, facilities, or building services role, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks to a high standard.
Skilled in general maintenance duties including painting and decorating, carpentry/joinery, basic plumbing, minor electrical works, repairs, and upkeep of fixtures, fittings, furniture, and guest room facilities.
Previous joinery experience desirable, including repairing and maintaining doors, frames, furniture, fixtures, and other wooden structures. Able to use hand tools and equipment safely and effectively while completing work to a high standard.
Experienced in responding to maintenance requests, prioritising urgent tasks, supporting preventative maintenance programmes, maintaining accurate repair records, and working safely in line with health and safety requirements.
Comfortable working as part of a maintenance team, assisting skilled tradespeople when required, maintaining plant rooms, and ensuring facilities are kept in excellent condition for guests and colleagues.
