At Northern Learning Trust we aim to improve the potential and raise the aspiration of people through learning. Much of our work is with vulnerable and disadvantaged people and communities with complex needs. We use informal learning and mentoring to build confidence and skills, and help people find solutions to their problems.
We are seeking to expand our pool of sessional Family and Community Learning Tutors, to help us deliver on an exciting new contract in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and County Durham. Ideally you will be a fully qualified tutor, with experience in engaging and supporting learners who face multiple barriers to progression. However, we’re also keen to hear from applicants who are newly qualified or working towards a teaching qualification at Level 5 or above. You'll need to be creative and practical and willing to try new and innovative ways to make learning accessible and fun for both adults and children, but most importantly, you will be a sympathetic and supportive teacher, with a genuine desire to help people improve their lives through learning.
We are passionate about the work we do and need a person who understands our values and believes in our mission. In return we offer you the opportunity to join a forward thinking and supportive organisation at an exciting stage in its development. We value our team members and offer a competitive salary, flexible working patterns and a friendly, supportive work environment.
Please visit our website www.northernlearningtrust.org.uk to download the job description and person specification. If you feel you can meet the criteria, we'd love to hear from you. If you'd like an informal chat before applying, please call Gill Smith on 0191 2710131.
