The Role
As an Internal Sales / Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities across the construction, industrial, facilities management, and infrastructure sectors.
Working from our office, you'll build your own customer base, establish strong relationships with key decision-makers, and become a trusted partner for powered access, plant, and tool hire solutions.
This is a sales-driven role where your success will be measured by your ability to generate revenue, grow accounts, and create long-term customer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively source and develop new business opportunities.
- Build and manage a profitable portfolio of customers.
- Generate sales through outbound calls, networking, referrals, and lead generation activities.
- Develop relationships with contractors, site managers, buyers, and procurement teams.
- Identify customer requirements and provide tailored hire solutions.
- Prepare quotations and negotiate rates to secure business.
- Convert enquiries into orders and maximise sales opportunities.
- Reactivate dormant accounts and identify opportunities for account growth.
- Maintain accurate records using CRM systems.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure excellent customer service and repeat business.
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales, revenue, and activity targets.
The Ideal CandidateEssential
- Previous experience within the Powered Access, Plant Hire, Tool Hire, Construction Equipment, or related Hire Industry.
- Proven track record in business development, telesales, internal sales, or account management.
- Confident in making outbound sales calls and developing new business.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive and resilient approach.
- Ability to work towards and exceed sales targets.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Desirable
- Existing industry contacts and customer network.
- Knowledge of powered access equipment, plant machinery, or tool hire products.
- Experience using CRM or hire management systems.
Pay: From £24,420.00 per year
