The Prestonville Arms is a proper locals pub that's growing quickly after a change in ownership last year, and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
This isn't a role where you'll simply be following someone else's playbook. You'll have the opportunity to take real ownership of the day-to-day operation, bring your own ideas to the table and have a genuine influence on where the pub goes next. The role can be as big as you make it.
We will give you:
- A high level of autonomy for the right person
- The opportunity to shape how the pub operates and help influence its future
- Genuine progression as the business grows
- The opportunity to take on more responsibility and progress towards a General Manager position as the pub develops. OR start at this level for the right person.
- The chance to build and develop your own team
- A varied role in a busy, lively and growing pub
- A workplace where your ideas will be listened to and encouraged
- Training and development to help you progress
- A supportive and experienced owner who understands the industry and will be there to support, train and develop you
- Staff benefits and discounts, including food.
- The opportunity to become an important part of the next stage of the Prestonville Arms
The type of person we're looking for
- A natural people person who enjoys hospitality and genuinely likes interacting with customers, this is a local's pub after all!
- Someone who understands that great service and a welcoming atmosphere are just as important as getting the operational side right
- Confident leading a small team, with the ability to motivate, support and hold people accountable
- Organised and able to stay on top of rotas, staffing, ordering and stock
- Calm under pressure and able to make good decisions when the pub gets busy
- Someone who is hands-on and isn't afraid to jump behind the bar, help in service or muck in wherever needed
- Commercially minded, with an understanding of sales, GP, wastage and controlling costs
- Someone who takes pride in their venue and notices the little things
- Friendly and approachable, with the confidence to build genuine relationships with our regulars and local community
- Someone who can balance the needs of our loyal locals with the influx of new customers we're seeing
- Proactive rather than reactive, someone who sees what needs doing and gets on with it
- Someone who enjoys the variety of hospitality – from a busy Saturday night to running a quiz, event or live music night
- Ambitious and keen to develop, with the desire to take on more responsibility as the business grows
- Previous pub, bar, restaurant or hospitality management experience is preferred, but we're also open to an experienced AM/Duty Manager/Supervisor who is ready to take the next step
- Most importantly, the right attitude, personality and work ethic, we'd rather have the right person with potential than someone with the perfect CV who isn't a good fit for the pub
We're still early in the journey, and there's a lot more we want to do.For the right person, there's plenty of scope for the role to develop alongside the business.
If you're ambitious, personable and want to play a genuine part in building something, we'd love to hear from you.
Come and work in a well old boozer.
Pay: £26,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
