Be part of something special.
About North Somerset Sports Foundation
North Somerset Sports Foundation is a registered charity using sport, physical activity and education to create opportunities and improve the lives of people within our community.
Our site is home to a busy programme of football, fitness, education and community activity, welcoming members, students, players, families and visitors throughout the week.
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking cleaner to help us maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for everyone who uses our facilities.
The Role
As our Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the site.
This is a hands-on role covering both routine cleaning and more thorough deep cleaning. You will largely work independently, taking responsibility for ensuring key areas of the facility are cleaned to a consistently high standard.
Your duties will include:
- Cleaning changing rooms, showers and associated areas
- Cleaning toilets and washroom facilities
- Cleaning communal areas, classrooms and other facility spaces
- Carrying out regular deep cleans of changing rooms, showers and toilets
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
- Cleaning floors, surfaces, fixtures and high-touch areas
- Replenishing toilet rolls, soap and other hygiene supplies
- Monitoring cleaning supplies and highlighting when stock needs replenishing
- Reporting any maintenance, damage or health and safety concerns
- Ensuring cleaning equipment and products are used and stored safely
- Helping us maintain a consistently high standard of presentation across the facility
Working Hours
This is a permanent, employed position for 10 contracted hours per week.
We can offer some flexibility around how these hours are worked. However, as we operate a busy sporting venue, cleaning will sometimes need to be scheduled around football fixtures, events, education programmes and other activities.
This is particularly important during the football season, when the site can be extremely busy.
We are therefore looking for someone who can work with us to ensure the facility is clean, prepared and ready for our members, students, teams and visitors.
The Person
We’re looking for someone who:
- Takes pride in maintaining excellent cleaning standards
- Is reliable, punctual and trustworthy
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Is comfortable working independently and managing their own workload
- Is happy undertaking thorough and deep cleaning
- Understands the importance of hygiene within shared facilities
- Can be reasonably flexible when site requirements change
- Is comfortable working within a busy community and sporting environment
- Has a positive and practical approach to their work
Previous professional cleaning experience would be helpful, but it is not essential. We are more interested in finding someone dependable who takes pride in doing a job properly.
What We Offer
- £14.00 per hour
- 10 contracted hours per week
- Permanent, employed position
- Flexibility around working hours, within the operational requirements of the site
- A friendly and welcoming working environment
- The opportunity to be part of a growing community charity making a genuine difference locally
Interested?
If you think you’d be a good fit for the role, we’d love to hear from you.
Please send us a short introduction telling us a little about yourself, your availability and any previous cleaning experience.
