Job Summary
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and personable Event & Studio Operations Manager to join our team at YOU Studio in London.
This is a varied, hands-on role with a primary focus on the planning and operational delivery of events across our London and Manchester locations. You’ll take ownership of events from initial planning through to set-up, live delivery and breakdown, managing clients, suppliers, freelance teams, budgets, inventory and event P&Ls along the way.
Outside of events, you’ll work alongside our London studio team, supporting the day-to-day delivery of photography and moving image productions through production support, client management and talent liaison, helping to ensure every booking runs smoothly from arrival through to wrap.
We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, is confident working independently and wants the opportunity to genuinely make the role their own. As our events offering grows, you’ll have the autonomy to develop processes, build your own network of trusted suppliers and freelancers and help shape how this area of the business develops.
A smaller part of the role will focus on business development and building relationships with event agencies, brands and creative partners, with the opportunity to earn performance-related commission alongside your salary.
Salary: £38,000 per annum + performance-related commission
This is a full-time, London-based role, with travel to Manchester required for events and some evening and weekend work where necessary.We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Event and Studio Operations Manager to oversee the seamless execution of events and studio activities within our dynamic venue. Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the planning and operational delivery of events across our London and Manchester locations, from initial planning through to set-up, live delivery and breakdown.
- Act as the main point of contact for event clients, ensuring clear communication and a high level of service throughout.
- Create event schedules, operational plans, staffing requirements and timelines.
- Coordinate and manage suppliers, contractors and freelance event teams.
- Recruit, brief and manage freelance staff as required for individual events.
- Oversee event set-up, live operations, breakdown and venue reset.
- Manage event inventory, stock levels, ordering and operational supplies across both locations.
- Coordinate all pre-event, live-event and post-event cleaning requirements.
- Manage event budgets, track operational spend and maintain event P&Ls.
- Review event profitability and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and margins.
- Build and maintain a trusted network of suppliers, freelancers and industry contacts.
- Support the day-to-day running of photography and moving image productions at our London studio through production support, client management and talent liaison.
- Act as a key point of contact for studio clients and support the smooth running of productions from arrival through to wrap.
- Support targeted business development and outreach to event agencies, brands and creative partners.
- Continually review and develop event systems and processes as the events side of the business grows.
- Take genuine ownership of the role, identifying opportunities to improve how we operate and helping shape the future development of our events offering.lan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events, including corporate functions, performances, workshops, and studio bookings
- Oversee daily studio operations, ensuring all equipment, facilities, and resources are maintained at optimal standards
- Manage event setup and breakdown processes efficiently to meet deadlines and client expectations
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, upselling additional services or amenities to enhance their experience
- Lead a team of staff and vendors by providing clear direction, training, and support to deliver outstanding guest services
- Maintain detailed schedules for studio use, staffing, and event timelines to ensure smooth operations
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations during all events and activities
Skills
- Previous experience in event management, event operations or a similar client-facing role.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident managing multiple projects, suppliers and freelancers simultaneously.
- Experience managing budgets and tracking event costs.
- Excellent client communication and relationship-management skills.
- Calm, proactive and solutions-focused, particularly in fast-paced environments.
- Commercially aware with an understanding of event profitability.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects from start to finish.
- Enjoys working as part of a small, collaborative team and is happy to be hands-on and support across the business when required.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change quickly.
- Experience within a photography, production, creative or studio environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
