Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and supporting pharmacy operations. Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications in accordance with pharmacy protocols and prescriptions
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and organising medication orders for patients
- Provide guidance and information to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
- Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reordering supplies as necessary
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of pharmaceuticals
- Contribute to patient care by offering support and answering queries related to medication administration
- Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times in line with healthcare standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A recognised qualification in pharmacy assistance or related field is advantageous but not essential
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards
