We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and practical individual to join our Short-Term Housing team in Glasgow. In this role, you will work directly with people who need support to manage their tenancy, build confidence, access services and take positive steps towards greater stability and independence.
You will be part of a supportive team that values dignity, inclusion and person-centred practice. Every day will bring opportunities to listen, problem-solve, advocate and help people make progress at a pace that is right for them.
Your Role
- Provide practical and emotional support to people living in temporary accommodation
- Build trusting relationships based on individual needs, strengths and goals.
- Support people to manage day-to-day tenancy responsibilities, budgeting and appointments.
- Work closely with colleagues, partner agencies and wider support networks to promote positive outcomes.
- Maintain clear, accurate and respectful records in line with organisational requirements.
- Respond calmly and professionally to changing needs, risk and challenging situations.
About you
You do not need to have followed one specific career path to succeed in this role. We are interested in people who bring empathy, resilience, good judgement and a genuine commitment to supporting others.
You will be a strong communicator who can build rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds. You will be organised, able to manage competing priorities and confident working both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in housing, private rented sector, homelessness, social care, community support, advice work or a related setting would be helpful.
- An understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred and strengths-based support would be an advantage.
- You should be comfortable working with people who may be facing complex challenges.
- You will bring a respectful, non-judgemental approach and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
